This plate is fitted inside the Topper Sailboat during manufacture before the two parts of the deck are sealed. It has nuts welded onto it into which the transom bolts are screwed to hold the outer transom plate in place.Fitting instructions: Option 1 – take boat to a specialist repair centre (such as the Topper Factory). A three sided flap will be cut in the bottom of the Topper hull to enable the new inner plate to be fitted – this option will keep the Topper in class and will enable it to be raced legally. Option 2 – cut a hatch in the top of the hull and fit a new inner plate. This will take the boat out of class and it will be illegal to race.
