Rope and nylon hook with spring to hold the clew of the sail to the mast. This part is no longer used on new Toppers which are sent out with TZST19 Metal Clew Ring already attached to the boom.This part slides easily over the boom clew end fitting whereas the metal clew ring (which is better for racing as it pulls the sail closer to the boom) is harder to fit as you need to remove the end fitting slide the ring on and then re-fit boom end fitting.
