Adventure sailing will incorporate these skills on destination sailing and some racing. Our young adventure sailors who will plan, prepare, sail and evaluate their daily adventures. We will be using C420, Topaz Argo’s and Melges 15’s. During this time we will teach our sailors how to use asymmetrical spinnakers on the Topaz Argo and the Melges 15.

Adventure sailing Schedule

This is our typical schedule but the ever-changing Outer Banks weather creates updates along the way. Our first goal is to keep the campers safe and having fun while spending as much time on the water as possible. Weather depending, we definitely shift schedules around to maximize our time on the water. We will start at 9:00 Am and end promptly at 3:00 Pm.

Food & Drink

Students should plan to bring lunch and a snack. We will provide cold water  on site. All lunches and snacks should be peanut free. Let us know if there are any other allergy concerns. Please make sure that their food is in a lunch box or similar as we will be bringing our lunches on board with us .

Sun & Safety:

Our students safety and comfort is our primary concern.  We require that all kids know how to swim.  We ask that each student comes prepared with a hat, sunscreen (already applied as well as extra for re-application), sun shirts, water shoes and a water bottle (We will provide a Nalgene water bottle to each camper and they can keep them after camp is over).

Parents

Parents are welcome to come and watch these sessions at any time. However, we may leave the marina area and head out into the sound. If watching from a boat, please keep your distance from the boats.  We are happy to talk to parents about the program at anytime and help answer any questions.
