New Owner Takes the Helm of Topaz Sailing
Nor’Banks Sailing & Watersports is now the Exclusive US Distributor of Topper International Range of Sailboats
Annapolis, MD (April 22, 2014) – After introducing the Topper International Range of Sailboats to the US market in 2008, Karen Morris and Peter Cook are pleased to hand over the tiller to Nor’Banks Sailing and its owners Jon Britt and Hardy Peters. Longtime customers and friends of Topaz Sailing, Britt and Peters own and operate Nor’Banks Sailing & Watersports, a full service sailing center located in Duck, North Carolina offering a variety of sailboat rentals, instruction, and sales along with an extensive water sports operation.
“In addition to having the passion for sailing, Nor’Banks Sailing has the right skill-set, knowledge and location to grow the Topper Range of Sailboats in the US,” said Cook. “We couldn’t be more confident that we are handing over the Distributorship a very qualified and dedicated crew”, added Morris.
“We are excited to continue to uphold the tradition that Topaz Sailing Systems has started here in the US and are ready to continue to offer the Topaz Sailing System and full Topper sailboat range to the North American market,” said Britt. “The Topaz’s wide range of custom rig options, maintenance free construction and portability make it the ideal boat to grow the US dinghy sailing market.” Peters added, “In addition, these boats appeal to a wide range of sailors, from schools, to beginner sailors, to seasoned sailors. Our goal is to maximize a sailors time on the water at the best possible value. “
Morris and Cook will continue to support Nor’banks Sailing in the growth and marketing of the Topaz Sailing range of boats based on their strong belief that Topaz is an ideal fit to introduce a new generation of sailors to the joy of the sport.
In late 2014, Nor’Banks plans to introduce the very successful Topaz Argo to the United States market and will feature the Argo in their sailing programs. They will be displaying the Argo for her US debut at the Annapolis Fall Sailboat Show in October.
