Gareth Ferguson is a 22 year old experienced monohull racer specializing in Weta and Melges 15. Originally from Durham, North Carolina, he got into sailing through small boat lake sailing and high school racing. After school, he spent 3 years as a liveaboard on a 27 footer. This time was spent campaigning on a Wayfarer and crewing on big boats in order to get his captains license.
Since joining the company in January, Gareth has taken over assembly of boats, earned his US Sailing level 1 instructor certification, and achieved his 25 ton masters license. Going into his second year, he’s looking forward to continuing supporting Melges 15 and Weta Trimaran racing while gaining more experience with their catamarans brands and foiling sailboats. He is also their lead sailing instructor and backup captain of their charter catamaran Surfer Girl.
